Welcome to the Memorial Middle School 8th Grade Humanities Blog!
Humanities is a one semester course for eighth grade students that explores various aspects of the fine arts. Students will study visual, and musical arts. Primary focus is given to those masters who have become known as the great artists and composers withstanding the test of time. These master artists are known as legends in their fields. The key to success in this course is to have an open mind to experiencing the arts.
You need to choose which of the 7 Ancient Wonders you consider to be the greatest. In your comment, you need to give reasons for your choice to support your decision.
I think the statue of Zeus is the greatest. The reasons are Zeus could throw lightning bolts. It also started the olympic games. Finally, He was a greek god
The ancient wounder that I think was the best was the Pyramids. One reason is because they are the only one out of the 7 that are still standing like fully.I also thought it was really cool how they made them for their pharos.
My favorite wonder, of the 7 wonders, has to be the phyrimids. My resons are these:
*They have fought through the mightiest of storms *They have only been killed by man and time *They were build by the people of egypt with those giant blocks of sand.
I like the pyramids and think that they should be the greatest wonder because they look really cool. Also, they were where the pharos were buried and had all kinds of treasures. Another reason I like them is because they are still here. I think it was really cool how they took 40 years to build.
I think the greatest ancient wonder out of the seven would have to be the Pyramids. The Pyramids are pretty amazing because some are still standing from when they were built in 3000 B.C. One of the coolest things about the Pyramids is that they were hand made. Some other wonders were hand made too but the Pyramids are cooler looking.
The Pyramids because they are the only ones left and the history is interesting. They also are 42 stories high which is amazing since they were built so long ago.
I believe that the Pharos of Alexandria are the greatest of the seven wonders. I think this, because they, unlike every other wonder, were made for regular people use. It also was the second wonder to have honored Zeus. Finally, it was the final wonder mentioned, making it perty awesome.
I am the most facinated by the Hanging Gardens, because for one thing, they were built in the desert of all places. Another thing is that there's vegetation placed on numerous levels of an outdoor ziggerat! I'm not gonna lie, that one's just mind blowing. It's also ridiculously dope the the garden was fed by pumping water all the way from the Euphrates to the Hanging Gardens! Yeah, I know, insane right? But it's the truth! According to the video anyways. I just assumed the video was a legit source, forgive me if I'm wrong. If I am though I'm gonna be pretty heartbroken. In fact. It's probably better if you don't tell me and save me the emotional distress. Ok, this comment is dragging on. I've gotta end this.... but by saying that I'm really just making it longer, especially when I analyze what I'm doing when it's blantly obvious. Ok. I'm done. Goodbye!
I think that the best wonder in the world is the pyramids because they are still standing and people can go see them. Also because they have a lot of unknown treasures inside and have tons of history because of the mummies and how they were built. Another reason is because I would love to go to Egypt and explore all of the pyramids.
The one that I consider the greatest is Pharos of Alexandria. One reason is because you can see it 35 miles away. Also it was a lighthouse by the seas and I like light houses. Another reason is that it wasn't build to worship a god. Another thing that I loved about is that everybody could use it. You didn't haft to be great or anything to see it. Another reson why is that it was build for everyday uses.
Tomb of Mausolus;; -I think that teh Tomb of Mausolus is cool because, it is a really unique piece of history. -People found parts of it and took it to a museum. -Mousolus' wife had it built in honor of him after he died.
I think the pyramids are the coolest wonder. It is really cool that they were built just for Pharos. It is also awsome how much gold they found inside the tumb. It is amasing that they are still standing.
i think the pyramids are the greatest because they are the only wonder still standing. i also think its interesting how the people carried the bricks all the way up to the top. i think its cool how they shine at the tips still. i would like to visit them sometime
I think the pyramids are the greatest wonder of the world because they are still standing, they can be used as big sun dials, and they are also the oldest.

I picked the Pyramids because they are still standing and you need a lof of intelligence to make a structure like that. I also picked it because I think it would be AWESOME to live in a Pyramid! :)
I think the pyrimids are the greatest wonder because they are in Egypt and I think Egypt is interesting to me. The pyrimids also act as a huge sun dial. They are also the only remaining wonder. I would like to visit them someday!

My favorite wonder of 7 wonders of the world (or 7 W.O.W's.) is the Pharos of Alexandria. The reason is that it's main reason for standing was not for worhshipping someone, (even though that still happened) but to help people at sea.
My fravorite wonder is the Pharos of Alexandria. The pharos of Alexandria is my fravriot because everyday people uses it. Also because it helped people. I also like it because it was not built to honor Zues who is my fravriot Greek god
I am most facsinated by The Statue of Zeus. It holds so much power and looks so majestic standing tall and wise. It was made with rich materials including gold and ivory. Because it's such a worshipped leader, it is known as a God! It is special to the Olympians because it was biult on the angelic location of Mt. Olympus. This is a region I would thoroughly enjoy visiting someday, and observing the Statue of Zeus would be rewarding and valuable to my life.
I think Pyramides because they are still standing. They are also the first wonder and took 30 years to build. The other reason is that they put tombs in the Pyramids. :( Jk :)
The greatest wonder of the world are the Pyramids. They are the greatest because they are still standing today. Also, famous and important things are still buried in the Pyramids. They were built with a lot of skill and creativity too.
i think that the temple of artemis is the most important. i think this because it is made of marble and marbele is amazing and two it is built in honor of someone. that would be amazing

My favorite wonder is the Statue of Zeus. I admire that wonder the most because of the story it has. As the legend goes the creater stood before the statue and asked Zeus himself if the statue was to his standard. A single lightning bolt struck in front of the statue, as a sign from Zeus that it was satisfactory.
In my opinon the Pharos of Alexandria is the greatist wonder of the world because its kind of just something normal and not all god like and stuff. It just seems the most human and its kind of cool.

I like the tomb of Mosolus because it was a burial place of a king from a long time ago. it has chariots on the top. The chariots were built by his wife.
