Welcome to the Memorial Middle School 8th Grade Humanities Blog!
Humanities is a one semester course for eighth grade students that explores various aspects of the fine arts. Students will study visual, and musical arts. Primary focus is given to those masters who have become known as the great artists and composers withstanding the test of time. These master artists are known as legends in their fields. The key to success in this course is to have an open mind to experiencing the arts.
In 3-4 complete sentences, describe your experiences with art up to this point. What about art do you enjoy? Where in your life have you seen or used art? Comment Due: Friday, February 4.
There is art all around us even though half of us dont even realize it! I enjoy art, just trying to figure out what the artist is trying to say with there ways of art. I think I'm a good artist its just I only draw when I want to. I see art every whetre I turn. Some people think art is just painting and just drawing its so much more. Art can be music to photos to even builing a house.... if we dint have art we wouldnt be able to do a lot of things on are planet :( P.S I like to be called BMWbz like the car brand its my initials :)
Art has influenced me in many ways, it is pretty much everywhere you go. I enjoy art because it helps you express you feelings and you get to show your talents. I see art all the time. I manly see it in my house because my aunt is a painter.
Art is a full experience, whether it's in a book, in a frame, or standing soaring like a great monument, it's in our lives. I have no artisitc talents whatsoever, but I do apprecaite the master pieces that experts before us have created. Art isn't just something to gaze upon. Although it's beauty can put you in a trance, it's so much more sofisticated then that. When I travel with my family to other countries like Mexico for instance, so many cultures are present in their creations. You can obtain a real feel and emotion for the artist with their absract idea's. I am stoked to better my knowledge of art and it's history, hopefully I will overcome my mediocre work and find my steady art hand like Picasso and many others once did.
I love all art. I think it is a really great way to express ourselves. It is how I express myself the most by far. Mostly I draw fashion designs and whatever comes into my mind. I would have to say that my favorite kind of art is fashion. You maybe wouldnt think of it as art but I definitly think that it is, not in the trendiest clothes kind of way; rather the runway collections unique kind of way. There is so much that can be art that you really dont think about. When I grow up I'm going to be a famous fashion designer, and you can hold my words to it!
My favorite part about art is the fact that you can't go wrong with it. Art is in every creative thing that we do. I like art when it includes doodling because anyone can do that...even me.
I have not had much experiance with art. I am not good at drawing or painting. But, I play the guitar and I used to play the piano and percussion. Also, I like all music except for country.
Art is a very important part of our lives. It captures history in a picture. That is why we have art museums. My favorite thing about art is drawing. Even though I'm a terrible drawer it is still fun. Art is a way to be creative and fun. That is why art is important.
I dont every really draw art but if i do i like it. I never really spend much time with art. I dont really have that much experince with art only in art class is what i know. Art is not my favorite thing but if i have to draw i will.
Art is every where and we never seem to notice it. It in music, on the walls, in books or in our own lives. But the part that I really enjoy about art is music. It can be an awsome way to express ourselfs. I have never really been to an art museum, I would like to. Just not as much if I had a chance to go to a concert.

What I like about art is that it is more than drawing, it's about letting your creatvity run wild. Now while I really stink at drawing, I often come up great ideas for art. For example, if you gave me some time, I bet you that I could come up with a whole new world for a book, a TV show, a video game, etc. Just drawing it is the problem

I have a very dark past with art. In the fourth grade J.F.K.'s art teacher moved and we were left with a very shrewed woman. She took great pleasure from harshly pointing out every little detail that could have been better. Those were grim days. But with that aside, art is great. Without it life would be unbearably boring and the suicide rate would probably increase ten-fold... I thank you for your time
Art is everywhere. It influences everything in present day culture. I like art because it lets the artist express themselves freely. When judging art, there are many opinions from many people. Art is all about expression of feelings and the way we precieve works of art. I like to draw but my skills are limited. I still enjoy it though.
The art that I most enjoy is porbally paint art or oil patteals. My experinces with art is very good I love looking at art that has nature in the picture. I have used art in art class also when I have time I do paintings or drawings of whatever I feel like to draw. I have seen art on a poster or on a canvas at my freinds house. I love art becasue it makes me feel that I am in the atmosphere of the picture.
I think everything is art from a the house next door to the painting inside. Art is beauty and beauty is all around us. I enjoy many things about art. For example I love Books, movies, paintings, music and many other things. I think art is one of the main indacators of calture for example in spaing they may view things in diffrent ways and that is shown through their art.
Art fascinates me. I'm sure it also fascinates many other people. I honestly have no art talent, meaning I can't draw to save my life. If one were to look at an art piece they would either like it or not like it. Some arts are confusing and just put together randomly. Those are sometimes the most commonly liked. What I like about art is the fact that none are similar; even from the same artist each is different. I see art everywhere, literally.
I really don't like art because all i can draw is stick figures. If i have to draw i will draw but i wont be very good unless i take my time. This yeear i have been getting into drawing a little but not that much becasue my drawings are just short people with writing on the tee shirts. Brady Hauger:)
I really like art because its a way a lot of people can express themsleves. Art is a fun subject, any kind if art is fun to try and do, I like to draw but im too good at but its still fun to do. Art is everywhere, in all kinds a places. I have taken art classes in elementry and middle school, also I'm taking drwaing high school, I really like looking at other people art too.
I really don't have much experience with art, but I have to admit, it does look pretty cool as long as it's done right. Right being unlike mine. I have been through a few art museums in my life and I'm pretty imipressed with what people can do with colors. Even though I don't understand it half the time, it does leave me perplexed.

I enjoy some art because it's cool to see how other people express their emotions. I have been to some museums but I am not really into art museums. Sometimes it confuses me why people draw the things they draw.
Everywhere you look there is are! Ive taken art sense i was in school. So i have some experince with art. I have been to some art glaerys and i like art. But sometimes people draw stuff of dumb or confussing things.
I see art everywhere. Art can be expressed in many ways from chalk drawing to the New York skyline. I do not have much experience with art aside from the fact that art is everywhere. I am not a very good artist but I would like to be able to create something amazing
i see art everywhere! It can be expressed in lots of ways, like painting, drawings, sculptures and many more. i don't have that much experience with art though, i see it a lot, but i don't really do much with it. i would like to be able to sculpte something, and become famous!
I think art is how you show people how you feel .You don't have to worry if it looks right because there is no wrong way or right way to do art. Art is something I like to do I like to draw animals that are easy to draw like guinea pigs and fish.I really have not had many art classes I have only had one art class and that was in 7th grade.Art to me let's me draw learn cool and interesting iformation.
I don't really know a lot about art. I know art is like music and art and stuff. I enjoy music art. Listening to music is art and stuff. I knew the Mona Lisa was a famous painting too.

I haven't had many exsperiences with art, only a few. I have though been to a art musemum in New York last year when I was there. I like Abstract art more than actual art that has a real meaning or a portrait. I use art a lot because I love to draw, although I am not the best at it, I am still learning how to though. Art is in everywhere from sighns, to posters.
The only expirences I've had with art are art classes in school. I like abstract paintings and landscape paintings the best. I've seen art in musuems and in school.
when my brother and i were little, our art class would always be in a contest to represent Oscar Howe Elementary school (5 kids from each grade would get there painting into the washington pavilion). My art didn't make it, my brothers did. I was sssssssssoooooooo angry that i almost gave up art. Now that i look back... i see that my art was flat when my brothers art almost jumped off the page with shadows and life. I am still jealous but i see why i didn't get art in the pavilion.
I work with art everyday whether it be actually sitting down and drawing something or doodling on my worksheets in class when the teachers talking. I enjoy it and it helps waste time when i have nothing to do.
I'm no a very talented artist I guess you could say. But as I was growing up in elementary school I was always found of drawing cars. I also like learning new kinds of landscape scenaries and how to draw them. But my favorite thing I ever learned how to do was make a drawing with linea perspective, with everything all pointing to the horizon in the background, 7th grade.
When I was little my class used to have compitions in art class to see who could come up with the best drawing or paintings and I kinda injoyed it but I kinda didn't it just depends on what it is we were drawing.
I like art because it gives you a chance to express your self. I am liked art for a long time and counitue to like it. I like to do all types of art like, clay, 3-D, graffti and more.I use art to relax sometimes. So whenever i get stressed I draw. (:

My favorite kind of art is music. Heavy metal to me is the best music. Suicide Silence, Heaven Shall Burn, Bullet For My Valentine, and Avenged Seven Fold are the best.
Art is a very big part is peoples lives.But art really isnt a really big thing in my life unfortinally.But some art I have seen is really cool but most of it is very boring. But yet agian Without art, life would be boring.
