Welcome to the Memorial Middle School 8th Grade Humanities Blog!
Humanities is a one semester course for eighth grade students that explores various aspects of the fine arts. Students will study visual, and musical arts. Primary focus is given to those masters who have become known as the great artists and composers withstanding the test of time. These master artists are known as legends in their fields. The key to success in this course is to have an open mind to experiencing the arts.
In 3-4 complete sentences, describe your experiences with art up to this point. What about art do you enjoy? Where in your life have you seen or used art? Comment Due: Friday, February 4.
I have always thought art was fun. I like painting art and sometimes drawing. I use art in school alot by drawing and coloring. Art has always been part of my day.
I love art. My mom is amazing at painting and has sold many pictures and my grandma was even better. In elemantary school I didn't like art as much as I do now though. I like painting(sometimes), drawing, and I play music. Without art life would be very different (and boring).
I enjoy art alot, escpecially in the form of music, which I always love. I have been in a few art contests in elementary and did quite good. I have art supplies at my house, which I use about every weekend. I havn't seen any origional paintings but we did make a replica of a few works of art in Drawing And Painting last semester.
Everyday I either see or listen to art. I love the way people express themselves and their feelings through art. I'm not much of an artist myself, but I do like to draw when I can.
I like art because it gives people different ways and styles to express themselves. Art has had some effect on me, but it has been mostly through music. But through travling, I have seen lots of painting, and it has changed how I view most things.
I love art, I love to draw, paint, sing, and write. In my house there are lots of paintings and I usually am always listening to music. Plus my step-dad likes to sing to every song on the radio, even if he doesn't know the words. Our house is filled with art, my mother was an art major so even our garage and storage rooms are filled with her paintings and portfolios. My life is filled with art because of her, I'm glad that we share that talent.
Well, art IS everything. It coexist with us. So I think I live with art, without even noticing them. Let's take our body for example. It is living art. Maybe that is why so many artist drew human in nude, to show that our body is art.
Art is all around us. Music, buildings, books, pictures are a few examples of the art we see or hear every day. With that said I have been around art since the day I was born. I enjoy all kinds of art; the way a poet gracely pulls the words coming out of his/her mouth to make beautiful art, or how the more you study a picture the more you understand what the artist was thinking when he/she created it. Throungh these ways of art a have been taught new things that others can't teach me. Art is history that speaks for its self. Without some art we might not even know about our past. Art is a beautiful thing that will live forever.
My experiences with art mainly include music and photography and video. Music with it's beat and rhythm really can express your feelings and is also a creation that can be so much more that what it is, which in my definition of art, art is a creation with any sort of value. Then photography and video is capturing the art and making it something of your own which is then art.
Art is very fun and i think it is awesome. Because it is a form of art it music; which is one of the big part of my life. In my life music ,a form of art, is everywhere i go because i listen to music in my room, and my mom sings when ever she can. Also, when i swim i get music stuck in my head while they play it over the pool.
i find art to be very fun. i love to draw but i would prefure photography more. i have been drawing ever since i was a little girl and still today i do. i am mostly invovled in music with out it i would probably die. i can not go 1 day probably 1 hour with out music so im amazed how i get threw school. i like art the best just because you can mess around with it nothing has to be exact its your own way of looking at it not anyone elses.
I haven't really just looked at art. I love to learn about different art and what it represents. I think the history behind every piece of art is interesting. I love how art expresess you and only what you think or believe. I listen to music everyday. Also i really enjoy listneing to different pieces of music.
I expirience art everyday. I see it in places most people would pass over and mistaken for a normal and ordinary thing. Things stick out for me; like patterns and colors, they all jump at once. For me, art is a dead give away to express your feelings. In a way, it compares to music with me. If I play my heart out on the piano, I can just as easily make my feelings and emotions a painting or drawing. Nobody in my family is either musically inclined or artsy. Im the only one. But still, they see art and hear music everyday in every corner and every room. I think that it just doesnt pop out as much to them. I love art and I love the meaning and symbolism of it. Art has been a part of my life since forever and thats not about to stop now. :)
I see art everyday in my life. From playing in Orchestra to singing in the chior, I feel music is a way I can express myself. Even though I dont particulary like orchestra, singing is my one pasion i enjoy. Singing will stay with me for as long as i live (hopefully). I expect myself to go far with it and i expect it to bring me to new lengths in my life. :)
I like art because there are so many ways you can use art daily. Whether it's through music, painting, drawing, and writing. Even when you are in your own kitchen you can see the different patterns from plates or table cloths. I'm in art and chorus right now... so yeah!
Art plays a big part in my life. I've been drawing since I was little, and I'm constantly drawing in my notebook, on my hand, and sometimes on my homework X) I express how I feel with art, so if I'm happy, I might draw a singing mushroom. If I'm sad, I draw a rain cloud raining on the singing mushroom. It's really simple, and deep at the same time.
I used to draw all the time and I loved it. Now I don't draw as much, but I love to look at beautiful pieces of artwork. I have been the the Jocelyn Castle in Omaha where they have a whole section just for famous artwork. It was really cool to look at all the creations. Art is all around us, and gives everyone a way to express themselves.
I have many experiences with art most of them concluding music and ice skating. I play piano and flute, and I enjoy it so much, I couldn't imagine life without it. I know that art will be a part of you once you start, and that giving up art is like giving up on breathing. I see art in the way I skate, I express myself to the music( as much as I can) and enjoy performing on ice.
In my life, the most frequently used art is music. Instead of painting or drawing, I usually go play the drums. I also play and make a few video games which is like making paintings that move. Rylan Lipetzky
I like all the different types of art there are. I see art everyday at school and other places. Everyone that plays video games has also used art when they play or create something in the game.
i like the art that has to do with music and drawing. I really like to draw like 3-D shapes and stuff, and i like to dance and sing and listen to music. i use art almost everyday because i listen to music a lot, and i doodle a lot during class(:
This year in school I am currently not in any art classes, but in 7th grade I was in art class where we did a little bit of both painting and sculpting. I enjoy looking and studying different artists and their accomplishments. Personally I am not artistic what so ever and couldn't draw anything to save my life.
In my life i'm surrounded by art. My mother got into collage with her art so I, in a way, inheritated some of her abilities. I love to draw and paint almost anything! I've won art contests for a few things a few years ago. My other three sisters and I all have different but unique talents in art and I'm hoping to expand mine in highschool. About the only art that I see is the murals down in Santa Fe and Albaqurqe, NM when I used to live there and when my family and I visit my grandma. In NM there is all sorts of different drawings, music, and dance. There are statues, and creations. Its' all very beautiful. I love art! (:
i havent really ever experienced that much art.i like doing graffiti with art. I have seen some art in museums i also had art class so i only know a little about art.
In my life, you have art everyday. I love art. I love drawing and writing poetry. I am thinking about writing my own poetry book. I have already written a couple poems in my free time. I just love expressing my feelings in my writing. I also draw in my free time. I love drawing names in graffiti and making it creative. They are both something I really enjoy doing.
I see art in my life everyday. It's one of those things that just stands out from ordinary things. I consider everything to be art; someone somewhere along the line had to come up with it, and everything in life has it's own beauty..you just have to analyze it carfully and know that it's a mastarpiece. As for myself, I don't draw or paint, but I express art in many ways, wether I'm on the volleyball court, in the classroom, or singing in the choir. Art is very important to me and it's something that will stay with me my entire life. :)
I really enjoy art. I like looking at drawing and paintings but i cant really draw. But people who can draw and paint I think that its a way for them to express thier feelings.
i am enjoying art as i get better at it i am just working on try ing to draw cars and stuff like that. and i always see art in this classroom and out side of it, like in other classrooms. and i see some out side of school.
I do enjoy drawing but I am not good as my brother omar he good but I can draw ok I had art in 2q and had fun with it but this class is more of a picture of it
I like to draw and doodle on my papers when i don't want to listen to my teachers and whenever i'm in a bad mood i can express my feelings on a piece of paper. I also enjoy listening to music cause it helps me express myself. and i love to sing and dance it is a good way to burn energy!
When I get bored or just need to express myself i just draw pictures. I love to dance because it expresses the way you feel and other people can understand how your feeling. Same with writing when you write something and allow someone else to read it they can feel how felt when you wrote.
my experience with art is somewhat limited but i do enjoy painting and veiwing famous sculpturs but what i really like is seeing some really unique architcure. and with writing im good with it but i dont really enjoy it that much
I havent had much experience with art. I like painting when i have time. I have used art when i listen to music or am drawing a picture. But i havent actually seen any real art by a famous person or art that has been in a museum.
My expirences with art are mainly music and photography. I love to listen to music everyday in the car. I used to like to paint and draw but that interest has gone away. My friend loves to draw and she is really good, so she shows me her art all the time.
My expierences with are are alot of music and taking pictures. I like to make music with different instriments. Also make songs in both English and Spanish. Taking pictures is something Im very good at and enjoy.
I don't know what I am the master of but a skill I can do better than math would be music. I play violin, cello,piano, guitar. I also tend to be able to work well with little kids.
